"How can I improve my financial literacy?" – Has this question ever popped up in your head? Well, financial literacy is very important for economic growth. So if you are planning to build wealth, then you can't ignore financial literacy.
While we were all riding the "This is my year" wave, the Coronavirus came in and snatched us up. Vision boards have had to go unpursued, goals unmet, and resources untapped... it was rough for all of us, sis. However, all is not lost; contactless entrepreneurship is the new wave, and women's entrepreneurship has increased 21 percent over the last five years.
So today, I have 5 COVID safe side hustles that will help you close the "financial gap."
Millions of people are fighting fiercely in 2020: battling to save lives and livelihoods. Some are working with a compassionate heart to save lives in hospitals. Others are trying to protect their lives and livelihoods by staying at home. While being shut-in isn't always ideal, people have found a way to become super-efficient with both their time and money.
There is a push to support black business in the wake of the chaos of COVID-19, protests, riots, and endless discussions about race, politics, and police brutality. A grand idea that I wish hadn't taken until now to get off the ground… again.
Since June 1, 1865, the original Juneteenth, Black people have built communities, pooled their resources, and built "freedmen's towns" across America. In nearly all cases, these were successful, independent, thriving cities that fell to sabotage by the government or scornful neighbors like Tulsa, OK, and Rosewood FL.
Hey girl, hey!
It's been a while, so I officially want to say happy 2020 to you all. Today, I have another excellent guest post for you from the lovely Justine Chan, founder of Live With Plum, the home buying guide for the modern women. Justine started Live With Plum after going through her real estate journey and seeing how little resources there were for home-buyers, especially first-time homeowners. And as a millennial woman of color, there aren't many familiar stories to reference, even though minorities are a substantial and growing segment of homeowners in America.
We've received a lot of questions from women about home ownership and reasons why women aren't receiving the same returns on their homes as their male counterparts, so without further ado, please give a warm 'hey girl, hey' to Justine.
Are you thinking of refinancing your car, girlfriend? While there are definitely pros to refinancing, it's also essential to consider the cons. So let's review the basics:
What I love about music is that it's a universal language. It moves the soul.
When I was little, I used to put on whole concerts in front of my mirror for my audience of stuffed animals - and they loved it.

Hey girl, hey!

Have you ever been to Portland, Oregon?!
I actually had the pleasure of experiencing my first time in P-town this Spring, buuut if I”m gonna keep it real, I’ll have to be honest… initially I wasn’t all that excited about going.
“What the ‘f’ is in Portland?”, I asked my friends as we were narrowing down our last few choices on where our next trip should be. You see… the point of this whole trip was to land on a destination that none of us had been to before, and with our crew… that could be a bit of a challenging task.
